Endless Flight
Life goes on
So they say
As we march
Each momentous day
As my heart opens
To the world at large
It grows colder
As I grow older
To the thoughts of self
And vistas open
Before my eyes
Of the manifold souls
That do play their roles
And like snowflakes
No two alike
Each bearing a beauty
Like a precious gem
Upon mankind’s
Glowing diadem
As I walk
Upon life's path
No longer knowing
From where, my source of growing
Nor is it clear
Where I am going
I tread alone
Though in each person I meet
I find my home
No longer feeling
So alone
Though to outwards eyes
There is no one near
Or anyone
That would hold me dear
I am that moth
That flies at night
Striving through service
To reach the light
Though I know
It will never be
I do take great delight
In this endless flight
With every atom,
Of my being
I strive to give
And in this have meaning
No attention, do I seek
Nor recognition my desire
For I expend my soul
For a power much higher
I hope, with my last breath
That I will remain true
And upon my death
It can be said
That I remained true
And that in His glorious light
I grew

The world spins around. I have spent much time in the past few weeks with my children. I Picked up Ashlynn for the first time on my own and took her to see her father. Life is full of joys should we choose to see them. We focus so much as a society, family, friends on the disasters that unfold before us and in doing so forget the myriad events of growth and progress and profound joy that surrounds us as well. Replace a negative thought with one that is positive. Spread the positive energy, it is as contagious as the negative.
