Depth

It has been over a month since i last posted on my blog. The primary reason, other than lots of family visits, is that Austin has a Cedar pollen infestation (i say infestation due to the fact that it kills my sinus's). What we call Cedar here is actually a Mountain Juniper tree. Each year it is a ritual of breathing issues, sinus issues and even the eyes being effected. As i sit here typing my right eye is bloodshot from pollen. One of the other unfortunate side effects is that my walking was stopped. this weekend i could take it no longer. i walked 2.6 miles Saturday and 4 miles Sunday. When i walked by the Cedar and hit the branch a cloud of pollen would fly off of the tree.

Having been able to walk, i found my mind going to writing again. Many poems are swimming in my head and this one was the first to come out. i was reflecting on friends, family, love, friendship and life in general the result of my musings. Here is the poem.

Depth

Delving deep within my heart

Knowing not what I will see

Searching at a time of peace

A time of comfort, within me

There before me the angel stands

The inner eye reminds

That gem once let go

Before me dost show

and then I find

a resonance from within

reminding me to my chagrin

that these hearts

will never part

whether tis here or beyond

an unbreakable bond

i step away and leave in peace
