Worlds to Explore

WORLDS TO EXPLORE
In the deep dark sky
Billions of worlds do fly
We are myopic
And think of one
And disregard the fact
That we are not alone
The only one

This world
Of which I speak
Tis the world of self
To which we keep
Behind each face
A World doth dwell
One with perspectives
So different
The imagination doth swell

Each soul sees
A world so rich
Our view valid
And others muted, pallid

We are so concerned
What others think
Though not what
But what of us

T’is self-delusion
That through life
We build the illusion
That life is about us
Forgetting that
The quicksand of self
Leaves us empty
wanting

Upon this world
Billions do roam
To each person
This is home

If on that rare occasion
We look in another’s eyes
And see life through them
A rich tapestry will form
And just perhaps
We will find
A new norm
And realize
In the end
That we are all one

In a world where people are doubled over when they are walking and driving over devices of solitude  I have pondered how often do we actually get to learn about each other and see life through another's eye.  We are all here for each other.  An example of this came today.  I have been contemplating going to the symphony and was even offered tickets from someone who worked there should I decide to go sometime.  Today, while volunteering at the library another volunteer, who I have not met before, comes up to me and asks me if I like classical music.  I said that I love classical music.  She then asked me if I was alone or married.  I said that I was alone.  She then proceeded to offer me her symphony tickets as she is moving back to England and will not be able to use them.  I accepted them.  She then threw the icing on the cake.  She asked me if I lived locally.  I said yes, I live in Lakeway.  She asked me if I was willing to give a ride to a man in his 90's who loves going to the symphony.  I readily agreed.  Going to experience something I love and being able to be of service at the same time.  How special that is.  Now that person can go to England with peace of mind that her tickets are appreciated and that the baton of service that she was providing is passed on as well.  What does the world look like through her eyes today?  What does she think my world looks like today?
