Returns
Well, as I have mentioned many poems and stories are flying in my head. This one came to me and "popped" out after a busy day this weekend. I shared it with two friends. Their reaction was so positive that i was compelled to share it on my blog. I hope you enjoy it.
Returns
i have walked away so many times
Left her behind and written many lines
What is it that brings me back?
Reeling with pain, what is it i lack?
Leave, walk away, detach and then reappear
The angel from the mountain, i hold so dear
At first attention, approach and discourse
Then as if too much, a repeat of the same course
Apart, together, apart again
To what end doth this lead then?
My unanswered question is this,
To what purpose does this arrangement exist?
The further i pull myself away
The more the bond seems to grow each day.
Whether detached or searching for another
The road always runs back, and like thunder
The beloved returns to haunt my days
Not knowing perchance, i am affected this way
i can only assume that there is a purpose
And that someday it will make itself known
And reflect back i will do, and be shown
With clarity that comes from reflection
Why there is this bond and affection
Almost as if caused by infection
Returned over and again with deflection
To the purpose that will become clear
And when i finally stand with that one who is dear
And to no one else, at that time
Will i ever have felt so precious, or near….
